Fair and balanced.

This is the tag line of Fox News.  Since my ipod broke I have been listening to conservative radio after dropping my sister off at the airport and making the 90 minute trek home.  This is FREE ENTERTAINMENT.  I spent the drive with my jaw hanging open.  Glenn Beck is SO SMART because he has the amazing ability to not only talk to God, but God talks BACK TO HIM.  I don’t know about other places, but here in Minnesota, people visit generose for that.  Beck was very upset about his critics and asked for his listeners to pray not only for him and his family but also his entire staff.  That’s genius.  I think the best way is to ask for money right after assigning yourself martyrdom.  I’m so glad that Beck is here on earth to lead us down the righteous path.  Where would we be without him?  How have I survived 28 years without him guiding me?

Which brings me back to being “fair and balanced.”  Is this meant to be ironic or do they actually believe this?

The other day, again spending too much on the internet, I stumbled on a cartoon that was spewing hate about homosexuals.  First, I thought it was a joke, then I realized it wasn’t.  I was really debating whether to link to this, but I didn’t want to bring any more attention to such hate.

I believe in, and obviously, take advantage of having a strong opinion and exercising my right to free speech.  I believe that everyone has a right to their opinion and a right to express it (as I do here).  With this belief, I suppose they have a right to put this stuff out there.  I have always believed that honest, intelligent, and heated debate brings a greater understanding for all and is one of the things that makes this country great.  However, I just don’t think that the world needs more hate.  AND I am constantly amazed at people who have the audacity to speak for God.

I can only speak for myself, but I speak to God and ask Him to bring ME to a greater understanding.  Now I suppose I’m doing the same thing that I am criticizing, but it my OPINION (because God doesn’t talk back to me) that He would not like for others to speak to for Him.  That’s just me.

I have spent the past 2 hours (much to the annoyance of Josh…”why are you watching that?  It’s just hate!”) searching for the transcript of Beck’s program that I listened to so that I could share it with all of you.  I couldn’t find it, but take my word for it, it was REDONCULOUS!!  I found this video that illustrated some of his ignorance.

Fox News isn’t really news. It’s more like 24 hours of opinion with a few facts thrown in for good measure. All of the wrong facts, of course. It amazes me that people actually listen to Glenn Beck as the guy’s a nut!

John Stewart said it best after airing a clip of the Glenn Beck interview with Eric Massa (my Congressman that resigned after a sex scandal). Beck couldn’t get Massa to give him anything to confirm any of his Congressional conspiracy theories and ended his program by saying “I’m sorry for wasting an hour of your life.” Stewart said THAT should be his new tag line.

Oh the smile you’ve brought to my face!

It is always nice to find another sane and rational person finding out about Faux News –

Thank Dog for MSNBC to balance it out AND then some –

Of course, for your full entertainment pleasure, I’m sure you can find some Michelle Bachmann videos to really chuckle about –

If the smart and intelligent people of your state finally realise she’s one escapee and vote her out, just imagine the show she and Beck could have on Faux News!

Again, thanks much for the grins!

I’ve seen that guy on TV before, and I’m always amazed that people actually watch/listen to that kind of crap in America. It just seems like no one could be that dumb, to think everything is so black and white.

The really really difficult part is working with people who believe him to be a beacon of truth and light. If you give a contrary opinion than you are a socialist, misinformed, or Anti-American.

However, I love my job and these people as individuals. Just their misguided beliefs is jarring.

  5. Glenn Beck is an idiot. Enough said. I dont even know why he is on television.

The only person I dislike more than Glen Beck is Bill O’Riley.

Ughhhh! I can’t even flip past fox without my ears falling off and rolling around on the floor. Do you ever watch the Daily Show? They use fox’s footage as comedic fodder which is about all it’s good for, in my opinion.

Thanks for stopping by today. :)
