One of my favorite numbers.

I was tagged by the awesomeness that I call Raven.  She is a fellow Minnesotan and even though (of course) I appreciate being tagged, I don’t really get into the whole award/tagging kind of thing.  However, I am breaking my own rule because I thought this one was unique.

The reason I love 4 is just because it’s a great number.  Not too big, not too small, no one is left out, but also because my husband’s birthday is on the 4th, so that’s a pretty great reason to love the number 4 because I love everything Josh.

Four Places I Go

Jo Anne Fabrics, especially when Josh comes and helps me pick out yarn colors he likes for me to knit with–he has an amazing eye for colors.

Family’s Houses (I’m so lucky to live near Josh’s parents, Josh’s sister & family, and my mom)

I like driving-when I just need some time to myself or need to get out of the house.  I have my favorite roads and I just love to drive and listen to music.  Both my parents were semi truck drivers at one time, so I think it’s in my blood.

Places with Finn-we have a nature center in our town as well as a little zoo, it is so much fun to take Finn there.  In the cities we took him up to the Children’s Museum the other day and it was the best thing in my life to see his face light up as he saw each new exhibit.

And one more…anywhere with books and kids (especially if it has to do with learning…but anywhere there are kids…there is learning happening).

Four Smells I Love

Josh- he almost always smells so good.  When I’m feeling blue I’ll cuddle up with him or find a shirt he wore that I haven’t washed yet to wear.  Always makes me happy.

Freshly mowed grass and rain.

Bonfires.

My mother-in-law’s house.  She makes a gourmet meal EVERY night and whenever I walk into the house, it always smells SO YUMMY!

Four Favorite TV Shows

Only 4?  Didn’t you mean 404?  Ok, fine.  These are the ones that I am obsessed with at the moment.

Survivor-I can’t wait until Wednesday nights.  This season is the BEST.  I have a crush on Rob and Phillip is the most entertaining person EVER.  I think maybe he’s lying about being in the FBI, I just couldn’t see him doing that.

Big Love

Intervention-I have began watching all the old season’s on Netflix.  Lots of times it’s SO SAD.  I can only watch some of them (really just the one’s that are addicted to drugs and alcohol-I can’t watch people with eating disorders or those that cut).  I don’t enjoy watching people in such immense pain so I was trying to figure out why I liked to show.  I think I sympathize with them so much and those that are affected.  Especially when there are kids involved, I really just want to hug them until the pain goes away.  I am also always really fascinated by the question WHY.  Why do these people choose this path?

Jersey Shore-guilty pleasure–please don’t judge me.

Four Favorite Movies

This is hard.

A Walk to Remember

Bridget Jone’s Diary

Sister Act

Pirates of the Caribbean

Four Recommendations

Find a small or big way to make someone’s day-extending a helping hand gives you more than keeping it for yourself

Replace judgment with compassion and empathy–if everyone did this it would  make a world of difference

For those that you love, tell them often and mean it.  For your children-what they want and need more than anything is for your eyes to light up when you see them.

Do something that you love each day.  Even if it’s just for 5 minutes–you deserve it!

And one more-think of something you are grateful for everyday.  We will focus on something, so let’s make it positive instead of negative because we all have so many amazing gifts in our life.

Aaaaw, thanks. 😀 Oooh I’m so glad you decided to do this! You rock! I know, I get excited over little things. I’m ok with that. It makes life more interesting.

My besty loooooves Survivor too. Sometimes I forget and call her on Wednesday nights (usually cuz I forget what day it is) and she’s always all, “I’ll call you back after Survivor!!”

Love, love, love your recommendations! Especially the one about not judging. That’s something I’ve been working on for the past couple of years. It’s a hard habit to break, especially when you have a very judgmental mother like I do. The gratitude one is awesome too. Heck, they’re all awesome.

    Have a fantabulous day!

    Raven-

My family has a a very strong tradition of raising children with judgment and guilt. It is a daily struggle with myself to remind myself that I have so many faults and have (and continue) to make bad choices and am only the person I am and where I am from the forgiveness and lack of judgment from people in my life.

I’m so glad you left this comment because it reminded me that I was going to send you a message on FB about your bestie (besty?). I saw some things that I thought were great about Autism that I thought I would pass along. I’m sure she knows everything there is to know (it’s really about educating everyone else-I am including myself in that) as it becomes parents of children with Autism to make understanding and providing opportunities for their child their full time job.
