Meme in me head…

I was so honored that Candice from Candice Does The World tagged me in a post.  She said it is a super popular meme and I haven’t seen it…so apparently I’m as much of a loser on the internet as I am in real life.  😉

I always GREATLY APPRECIATE when I’m tagged in meme’s but don’t often participate for a variety of reasons…  This one was too good to pass up and quite possibly the most difficult one.  I celebrated my 3 year blog-o-versary this past June.

My most beautiful post.

Since the beginning of the year I’ve spent a lot more time exploring how to use our camera and also the great effects I can do with editing each photo.  So I had a very hard time choosing which post in the last 6 months was my favorite.  I couldn’t choose, so I’m going to list my favorite 2…all of which focus on my favorite model (Finn) of course!

Sidewalk chalk reminds me of children, sunshine, and summer.

Summer fun!

My most popular post.

I remembered as we were nearing Christmas time last year I remembered what an honor it was to participate in the Secret Santa Holiday Spin the year before.  Then I remembered Sprite’s Keeper had taken a break from spinning around (I think maybe she was dizzy).  So I emailed her and asked if I could step in and host this one spin, to which she graciously allowed me to attempt to stand in her HUGE shoes.  Many great things came from this…I feel like I was able to give a great surprise to more people by honoring the great blogs, I found some new great reads, and I learned it is a TON of work.  That just adds to the proof that Sprite’s Keeper is either Superwoman or not human (she farts rainbows…or so I’ve been told).  This year I will be happy to step and up host again or help or just offer encouragement to her because it was truly an honor and an amazing experience!!

Third Annual Happy Holiday Blogtastic Shout Out!

My most controversial post.

I attempted to drum up some controversy and make people so mad they would send me some great hate mail.  Didn’t work, so I guess I’m not controversial at all.  This was best attempt.

Wherein I make everyone hate me.

My most helpful post.

How to deal with a sick child.  You can send your check in the mail…you’ll appreciate it that much!

The worst thing.

A post whose success surprised me.

When I said goodbye to my dear iPod and didn’t know if we had money to replace it anytime soon.  I guess it was popular because of the title…I’m assuming people were searching for Apple and iPod stuff.  **Note to self–put popular search words in the title of a post to get random people finding me in searches.

My husband doesn’t love me and my son doesn’t listen, but I’m sure there’s an app for that.

A post I feel I didn’t get the attention it deserved.

I posted great Christmas photographs along with a 2 videos I made.  This is when I started trying to be more creative with the videos and make them into something more entertaining that watching Finn (which is pretty freaking entertaining to me).  However, the videos were at the bottom of many pictures and I think people didn’t realize that it was a video (they thought it was another picture).  So I re-posted it, but I still feel that people didn’t fully understand the GENIUS and TIME I put into the video.  The 2nd one might be a little boring, but the first one is cute and funny…and you can’t ask for anything better than that!

Because I could win an Oscar for it.

The post I’m most proud of.

Every year I try to find the right words to express the love and adoration for my mom.  My mom raised me and I am who I am because of her.  She was a great mom and taught me that everyone makes mistakes, so when we do, apologize and work to do better.  So when I know I’m in the wrong, I really try to make it better.  I hope every day that I can be half the mom to Finn as she is to me and this post was the closest I ever came to being able to express my love for my mom in words.

To the mom that built me.

Now for tagging the 7 people I want to do this too (in no particular order!)…

1.  Sprite’s Keeper

2. Raven

3. Denise

4. Tracey

5. Vince

6. Maggie

7. YOU!!!

  1. There goes that feminine mystique again..
You did a great job with the Blogtastic Shout out! (And my shoes are a size 10. Big, yes, huge, no.)
I rarely participate in meme’s anymore, but usually in the comments section so here goes:
My most beautiful post: hasn’t been written yet
My most popular post: the time some random asshat picked up Sprite in a Walmart right in front of me and I completely lost my shit. (sorry, still enrages me)
My most controversial post: taking on World of Warcraft
My most helpful post: Probably anything Spin Cycle related
A post whose success surprised me: Again, Spin Cycle, I didn’t think it would be that much work. I was wrong.
A post I feel didn’t get the attention it deserved: Being that I don’t keep tabs on my numbers and don’t advertise, none.
The post I’m most proud of: hasn’t been written yet.

Gah! Now you’re going to make me work to troll through 8 years of blog posts! You can be evil at times!

I remember the post about the woman in Walmart right in front of you (totally understand why you’re still upset). The others I’ll have to go back and search your site for…probably I already read them but can’t think of them off the top of my head.
I love that you said: hasn’t been written yet. I didn’t think of that. I hardly never participate in meme’s either, but I had to make an exception here. I certainly wouldn’t hold it against you, I totally understand. Thanks for the reply in comments, it’s fun to see your answers anyway.
I wear size 10 too…could have sworn they were at least size 25 when I was attempting to do your job last December! 😉

8 years? Wow, that’s something to be proud of FOR SURE! Just wanted to give you a shout out…but if you don’t want to do it, I would totally understand. You’ve had a crazy summer!

  5. Tracey says:

You mean you want me to think about what I’ve written in the past? …okay but it might take me a while :)

  6. Kate says:

Yes please! I love how you write…so funny. I might have to go back and read through all your archives…but this would be a way I could get a taste of what you wrote before I knew you via blogosphere!

  7. Denise says:

As I said, I felt so honored that you mentioned me! And I told you I will definitely write about my posts! It was lovely, thaaaaaaaaank you so very much!
By the way, reading about other things, I can consider myself a hoarder too… but the thing is that I tend to be organized, you know (by the shoes’ pics!) – paper (what I most like) with paper, in folders, or boxes with labels, shoes together with shoes, by color (lol), clothes hung by color too – that after all, things don’t look like… belonging to a hoarder. Mhhh… I don’t know… your post made me think!
And – kids who have everything tend to want even more. But I remember a friend of mine, who was poor and got to be rich. She was an only child and even being poor, her father brought her some presents on Christmas, every Christmas, asking her to choose one of them to give to a poorer neighbor. How sweet is this lesson????

You are far too organized to be a hoarder. And I was writing it as a joke…I’m really not like the TV show AT ALL. But I think people thought I was serious. Sometimes it’s really hard for me to throw away things that were costly and I didn’t use them or if someone else could use them. But I purge more than I save because I hate clutter. Sometimes I run into things and I think why on earth was I keeping this?
OF COURSE I tagged you…you’re my BBFF (best bloggy friend forever)…I’m going to patent that and make a million dollars! I just thought of it right now!!
I love the story of your friend. That’s what will show her kids how to be generous. For those much is given, much is expected. The more people that live by that, the better the world will be. I heard a parent whose kids were being really naughty (like seriously, not just a little) and took all the toys and everything back to the store while her kids watch. Last week we took Finn to a park to eat and play and even though I kept telling him he needed to finish to be able to play, and he wouldn’t do as I asked. So we left and he never got to play. He (of course) started crying, and everyone gave me these looks like I was the worst and meanest mom ever. I would rather have a child who is well behaved and listens who missed one Christmas than a spoiled and entitled child who had all the holidays with all the presents they could imagine. But that’s just me. Being a parent is tough, as you know of course, if it was easy, they would call it cake. Okay, that wasn’t as great as BBFF, but I used all my genius on that one I guess!
    😉 Kate
