Dipping my toe back in.

Didja miss me?

Didja?

Didja?

So I miss you.  A lot.

I decided to dip my big toe back in and see how the blogging is.  I’m just planning on posting every now and then…I wouldn’t want you to go into Kate withdrawal…

Death has been a topic in our house recently.  I think it’s very developmentally normal and brought on by the passing of my Grandma.

Conversation with Finn this morning.

Finn: When I’m a grown up like you and a daddy, am I still going to be in this family?

Me: You probably won’t want to live with us anymore, but you’ll ALWAYS be part of this family.

…pause…

Finn: But we won’t die for AGES and AGES, right?

Post whenever you feel like it. I sure do.

It’s good to have healthy discussions (age appropriate, of course) with kids about death at an early age. Then they’ll know it’s a normal part of life and learn how to deal with loss properly. Sheltering your kids from life doesn’t do them any service.

I am so glad you are back! And thanks for the amazing comments you left me, I always love when I read your comments (and I’m sincere, you know this!)
I wasn’t feeling very OK last week, so I didn’t write much or read. That’s why I’m late here, cause I never give your blog up. From time to time I come to check if you maybe wrote something again, and hoping you did…
    And now you did!
I totally understand the topic and Finn’s conversation. I secretly have the fear now that my brothers will die and I can’t cope with the feeling. I write one of my brothers everyday (the other doesn’t use internet everyday) just to check whether he is OK – but secretly, I want to know if he is alive. I know it’s insane, but I think it’s quite normal after what happened.
I only told this to you now. I didn’t tell him and I didn’t tell it to anybody. Well, now others will read, but it’s OK.
Hope you are OK, dear Kate, I want to see you smiling!
