My name is Kate Hanke and this is my website.

I am married to the most wonderful man on the planet, Josh. We live together in Rochester, MN with our son Finn, dogs Tanner and Hazel, and cat Abby. Currently I am working as a 2nd grade teacher.

I was born in Baltimore, MD and then lived in Philadelphia, PA until I was 4 at which time my family moved to Rochester.

I earned my BA with honors and then taught for a year while simultaneously earning my Masters degree in Elementary Education (and finished my Masters degree with a 4.0).

I started this website in June of 2008 to chronicle our lives as we waited for our son to be born and then celebrated Finn’s birth and all that has happened since including my fight against pancreatitis that landed me in and out of the hospital for 3 months and was debilitating for an additional 4 months after that.

This blog is about the Hanke family: Kate, Josh, and Finn. Josh and I founded our family on August 19, 2005. A little less than 3 years later we were blessed with our greatest joy, our son Finn who was born June 21, 2008. You will find stories here about our family, life, and thoughts about what is going on in this great and complicated world in which we live.
